2.1. HYSIS®

Software package HYSYS® is built based on reliable and well-tried process calculation methods. Over 25 years HYSYS® has been applied for simulation of processes of oil and gas production, and oil and gas refining. HYSYS® is applied as a reliable instrument enabling building of steady-state models in designing operating procedures, monitoring and troubleshooting the equipment conditions, optimization of operating practices, business-planning and assets management.

The most important problems solved using HYSIS® software comprise the following:

General policy of “Giprogazoochistka” company in this software system application is connected with calculation of process parameters and equipment of sulfur recovery units.

Besides, the system is used for detailed design and checking calculation for heat exchangers of different structure and purpose.

2.2. SULSIM®

Software product SULSIM® was developed by Suphur Experts specialists – top-ranked experts in designing, operation, and simulation of units for sulfur recovery from sulfur-containing gas and associated processes. Software complex SULSIM®  enables simulation of sulfur recovery unit in any configuration and degree of complexity including process of tail gas cleanup. SULSIM®  is applied at design stage for version simulation of process, determination of boundary and optimum parameters of process design values. This software system is an irreplaceable tool for survey of existing sulfur recovery system, identification of bottlenecks, optimization of manufacturing conditions, increase of hydrogen sulfide conversion degree into sulfur, and reduction of sulfur dioxide emissions.

2.3. Equipment strength calculations.

PASSAT - (strength analysis of condition of tanks, vessels, heat exchangers) – is a software system, designed to calculate strength and stability of tanks, vessels and their components and evaluate carrying capacity in operating conditions as well as testing and installation conditions. This software is used for designing and recalculation of facilities in oil refining, petrochemical, gas, oil and other industries. The program is recommended for application by Rostekhnadzor.

SHTUTSER-MKE – specialized program designed to calculate strength and stiffness of nozzle connecting point with tank (vessel) using finite elements method (FEM (MKE)). Calculations are made according to “Rosexpertiza” Association standard CA 03-003-07. Allowable stress level is determined as per “Standards for strength calculation of equipment and pipelines in atomic power plants”. (PNAE G-7-002-86 GOSATOMENERGONADZOR of the USSR 1989). The possibility exists both to evaluate the strength and stability of element into which a nozzle is tied in, and calculate the hole reinforcement under pressure only as per GOST 14249-89 and GOST 24755-89 respectively. The program is designed for recalculation in oil refining, petrochemical, gas, oil and other industries.
START – software family for designing and strength and stiffness calculation for different purpose pipelines with random space configuration at static and cyclic loading, as well as calculation of thickness of pipe walls and connecting parts subjected to pressure. Calculations are made as per the following standards: RD 10-249-98, RD 10-400-01, SA 03-003-07, SNiP 2.05.06-85.

3.1. Chromatograph.

Gas chromatograph Agilent 3000 Micro GC Portable. Manufacturing company - Agilent Technologies Group International, USA

A device enables to perform high speed analyses of gas mixtures in the field conditions. This is a fully equipped portable chromatograph specially designed for quick and precise analyses, The device is equipped with two 4 m long columns PoraPLOT U with reverse purge to vent thus allowing to analyses substances of different classes with one device. The columns can be subjected to independent thermostatic control by means of integrated accumulator.  A highly sensitive for thermal conductivity detector (catharometer) is used as a detecting device. A cylinder filled with carrier-gas in placed inside. Chromatograph is equipped with a battery and a cable connected to the car battery.

Our device is equipped with columns enabling to measure sulfur containing gas components: H2S (hydrogen sulphide), SO2 (sulfur dioxide), COS, CS2. When required, it is possible to replace the columns and analyze particular gas mixture.

Loaded weight ≈24 kg. The device is provided with portable computer with licensed software to control chromatograph operation and interpret the analysis results.

3.2. Gas analyzer with detector tubes.

Measuring module GASTEC GV-100S. Manufacturer - GASTEC CORPORATION, Kanagawa, Japan.

Measuring module GASTEC GV-100S combined with detector tubes – is a device for quantitative express-analysis of air, water and soil impurity with industrial and process emissions as per GOST 12.1.014-84.

They are capable of identification over 300 hazardous components for less than 1 minute.

They are used in portable analytical complexes, by ecological and sanitary control services, by divisions of EMERCOM and Ministry of Internal Affairs. Detector tubes specially designed for process control at production facilities and certification of work stations are used at the plants of chemical, mechanical engineering, oil-and-gas, food, metallurgical and mining industries. Detector tubes GASTEC are certified as per GOST R system.

The module consists of aspiration pump GASTEC GV-100S and detector tubes. Sampling pump conforms to measurement requirements. The case design makes the pump simple and convenient for sampling of process gas for analyze. The piston has limiters for 50 and 100 ml.

Detector tubes GASTEC are leakproof glass tubes filled with detecting chemisorbent.

Principle of operation: express-method based on change of indicating bed color when analyzed air is pumped through detector tube. Length of reacted bed is a function and a measure of analyte weight concentration and of analyzed air sample volume.

A set of detector tubes used by specialists of “Giprogazoochistka” company enables to measure content of sulfur-containing components in gas mixture of gases fed to and left (flue gases) sulfur removal facility, and in path of sulfur removal and sulfur recovery units.

The set of detector tubes is possible to be expanded when analyses of another gas components are necessary.
